With only one season in the burnt orange, Kevin Durant left an indelible mark on the university of Texas basketball team. The newest retro Jordan released in stores yesterday. The Crimson 3′s are a new twist to the legendary Air Jordan 3 line. It seems as though these are one of those shoes that look better in person. Joe Flacco, Ray Lewis and the Baltimore Ravens sit atop the football world as Super Bowl XLVII champions. The Ravens held on for a 34-31 victory.

The Ravens jumped all over the 49ers early, leading 28-6 after Jacoby Jones took the opening kickoff of the third quarter 108 yards for a touchdown. Then the lights when, literally in the Super Dome. Following the 34 minute delay, the 49ers came alive and got as close as 31-29. The Ravens defense mustered up a final goal line stance to seal the deal.

Joe Flacco was named Super Bowl XLVII MVP. Flacco passed for 287 yards and 3 touchdowns. Flacco has now elevated himself into the discussion of one of the elites. Anquan Boldin caught 6 passes for 104 yards and a touchdown. Jacoby Jones not only had the kick return touchdown but also an amazing 59-yard touchdown reception. Last but not least, Ray Lewis ends his career on top, a champion.

Young Colin Kaepernick did not disappoint in his Super Bowl debut. Kaepernick passed for 302 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. He also ran for 62 yards and a touchdown. Frank Gore rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown. Michael Crabtree caught 5 balls for 109 yards and a touchdown.

The day is finally, the best sports day of the year is upon us. Super Bowl XLVII kicks off today close to 6:30. This years Super Bowl is sure to be an exciting one. Not only will brothers Jim and John Harbaugh oppose each other, but we also get a halftime performance from the lovely Beyonce!

The San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens will battle for football’s ultimate prize. Now begs the question, which team will end the night hoisting the Lombardi trophy?

The Baltimore Ravens have been riding the wave of Ray Lewis’ last ride. Before the start of the playoffs Lewis announced that he would retire at the end of the season. This news has galvanized the Ravens and now they are in the Super Bowl.

The emergence of Joe Flacco has led the Ravens on the field. Flacco has silenced the critics and led his team to this game. Flacco will need to continue his outstanding play if Baltimore has any shot of winning this game. A victory tonight will undoubtedly elevate Flacco into the elite quarterback category. Flacco will need to find Torrey Williams and Anquan Boldin often and wear out the Niners secondary. Ray Rice is often the forgot man, but he plays such a huge role in not only the ground game, but in the passing game. If Rice can get loose, it may be a long day for the Niners.

Defensively the Ravens older defense will need to muster up all they have and keep the read-option attack of Colin Kaepernick under wraps. If Kaepernick is able to get out in space, the Ravens will be in trouble. If at all possible, they need the make him one dimensional.

Young Colin Kaepernick, inserted midway through the season, has carried the San Francisco 49ers to New Orleans for the Super Bowl.

The dual-threat quarterback has transformed the Niners offense, and they are now an explosive group. The 49ers success in the big game will revolve around the success of Kaepernick. In order to beat the Ravens Kaep will need to have success on the ground and in the air. He’ll need to attack the older, slower Baltimore defense and make them chase him around all night. Lets not forget about Fran Gore. He is still a force on the ground and can put up big numbers. The ground attack is important because it will open up the passing game. San Fran has a healthy pro bowl caliber tight end in Vernon Davis, they’ll need to target him, especially in the red zone. Michael Crabtree has emerged as a number one receiver this year, he’ll need to fin gaps in the defense and provide a target for Kaep.

On the other side of the ball the Niners will need to apply pressure on Joe Flacco. The key to this will be Aldon Smith. Smith has been in a five week sack slump. He is due, and will need a to have a big day. Justin Smith is back, that should limit some of the double teams he is seeing. Patrick Willis will need to be solid on rush and pass defense. The Ravens secondary will be huge also. Chris Culliver and company will need to make sure speedy receivers Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones do not get behind them. They’ll have need to match the physicality of Anquan Boldin.

So who is going to win? I think the San Francisco 49ers offensive attack wi be too explosive for this aging, slower defense. Baltimore’s road to the Super Bowl saw them take down super star drop back quarterbacks. Young Colin Kaepernick poses a different threat that I’m not sure the Ray Lewis, Ed Reed and company can handle. I look for Jim Harbaugh and the San Francisco 49ers to hoist the Lombardi trophy as the winners of Super Bowl XLVII.

The Boston Celtics disappointing season just got worse as all star point guard was diagnosed with a torn right ACL today.

This will obviously end Rondo’s season, and most likely any chances the Celtics had of making a run. Rondo suffered the injury in Fridays double OT loss to the Hawks.

The Baltimore Ravens are heading to New Orleans for Super Bowl XLVII as they knocked off the New England Patriots 28-13 in the AFC Championship game.

The Ravens will take on the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl. It’ll features brothers John and Jim Harbaugh, the head coach for each respective team. Ray Lewis will look to end his career as a champion.

After losing a heart breaker last year, the San Francisco 49ers came back from an early deficit to win the NFC Championship and punch their ticket to Super Bowl XLVII.

Down 17-0 to begin the game, the 49ers rallies behind Frank Gore and Colin Kaepernick and stunned the Atlanta Falcons 28-24. Gore rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns. Kaepernick finished with 233 passing yards and a touchdown. Vernon Davis had 5 catches, 106 yards and a touchdown.

Matt Ryan went down went down with a valiant effort. He pass for 396 yards, 3 touchdowns and an interception. Julio Jones caught 11 passes for 182 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The 49ers will now wait to see who their opponent will be for Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans. They will meet the winner of the AFC Championship Game between the New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens.

(2)New England Patriots vs. (4) Baltimore Ravens

The New England Patriots beat up on the Houston Texans for the second time this season to advance to the title game, while the Baltimore Ravens shocked the top seeded Denver Broncos. The AFC Championship game is a rematch of last season’s title game in which the Patriots won narrowly.

Baltimore heads into Foxboro with a lot of confidence as they defeated the Patriots early in the season. Not only do the Ravens have one of the most physical defenses, they have a suddenly explosive offense. Joe Flacco has stepped up his game, and is looking to continue is stellar postseason. Look for Flacco to test the Patriots defense with the deep ball numerous times. On defense, the Ravens will look to pressure Tom Brady early and often.

For the Patriots it begins and ends with Tom Brady. Brady who is looking to advance to his 6th Super Bowl in 12 seasons, also has a lot of stake in this game. Look for Brady to push the tempo utilize the no-huddle to keep the Ravens defense guessing. With Rob Gronkowski out, look for Brady to target Shane Vereen again in the passing game. Defensively the Patriots have to limit the success of Ray Rice on the ground and the secondary has to keep the speedy Ravens receivers in front of them. If Flacco has success with the deep ball, it could be a long night for the Patriots.

When it’s all said and done, I believe Ray Lewis’ career ends in New England, and the Patriots will be heading back to the Super Bowl.
