Former Kansas Jayhawk star and current Washington Wizards guard, Kirk Hinrich was dealt to the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday. As part of a 5 player trade, the Hawks also acquired center Hilton Armstrong from Washington in exchange for guard Mike Bibby, swingman Maurice Evans, and rookie guard Jordan Crawford.
With Boston, Miami, and Chicago running away from the pack in the Eastern Conference, the Hawks traded for Hinrich to bolster production from the point guard position. The lack of production from ageing point guard Mike Bibby made this an easy deal to pull the trigger on. Furthermore, the addition of Hilton Armstrong adds much-needed depth to the frontcourt .
