In Tuesdays game of the Night the Orlando Magic defeated the New York Knicks 116-110.

Defense was once again the Knicks downfall, as they blew an 11 point third quarter lead. Jameer Nelson torched the Knicks pick and roll defense for 23 second half points. Nelson finished with 26 points. Dwight Howard had a huge game totaling 30 points and 16 rebounds. Ryan Anderson provided a huge spark off the bench with 16 points and 5 rebounds.

The Knicks’ big 3 had big nights again. Carmelo Anthony finished with 25 points on just 8-24 shooting. Amare Stoudemire scored 30 points, but had only 2 rebounds. Chauncey Billups had 30 points(18-20 from the line), 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Billups would leave the game in the last minute with an apparent quad injury.

This game tonight was a statement game for the Magic. They showed the Knicks that they must get past the Magic also, on their way to the top. This loss for the Knicks was a perfect example of the work that is still needed, especially defensively, if they wish to be contenders in the East.
