Lawson to Play in Lithuania During Lockout
Denver Nuggets guard Ty Lawson has agreed to play for the Lithuanian Club Zalgiris Kaunas during the NBA Lockout. Lawson’s deal will enable him to return to the Nuggets when the lockout ends.
University of Memphis “Hardaway Hall of Fame Center”
Thanks to a $1 Million donation from legendary Alum Penny Hardaway, the University of Memphis will be opening the Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway/University of Memphis Athletic Hall of Fame Center. The new center will be a 19,000 square foot extension to the current Office Building. The center is scheduled to open on August 30th.

Boston Celtics guard Delonte West said that a judge ruled that he could not play basketball overseas due to his past weapons charges, therefore he has applied for a job at Home Depot. West is looking for work during the NBA Lockout. Delonte is also planning to release a rap album titled “The Lockout”.

Dan Uggla’s 33-game hit streak was snapped today as the Atlanta Braves were defeated by the Chicago Cubs 6-5. Uggla’s hit streak was a franchise high and the longest streak in the majors this season.

“The Worm” Dennis Rodman will be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA tonight. Chris Mullin, Arvydas Sabonis, Artis Gilmore, Tom “Satch” Sanders, Tex Winter, Herb Magee, Teresa Edwards, Tara Vanderveer, and Reece “Goose” Tatum will join Rodman as part of the class of 2011.
