Tom Brady set a franchise and Monday Night Football record for passing yards in a single game. Brady and Welker also tied an NFL record connecting on a 99-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter to turn the lights out on South Florida.

Tom Brady sliced and diced the Miami Dolphins defense for 517 passing yards and 4 touchdowns. Brady was 32/48 passing, and threw one interception. The 517 passing yard was a Patriots franchise and Monday Night Football record. Brady also passed for the 5th most yards in a single game in NFL history.

With the game tied at 14 near the start of the 3rd quarter to Patriots out-scored the Dolphins 24-10 to end the game. Wes Welker led the Pats receivers with 7 catches for 160 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Patriots tight ends had huge nights as well. Aaron Hernandez recorded 7 catches for 103 yards and a touchdown, while Rob Gronkowski had 6 catches, 86 yards and a touchdown. Deion Branch caught 7 passes for 93 yards.

Miami QB Chad Henne had a good passing game as well. Henne went 30/49 passing for 416 yards, 2 touchdowns and an interception. Henne also rushed for a touchdown. Brandon Marshall caught 7 passes for 139 yards, while Reggie Bush caught 9 passes for 56 yards and a touchdown.
