MLB Playoffs: Division Clinching Friday

With chants of “M-V-P!” ringing, Ryan Bruan blasted a go ahead 3-run homer in the bottom of the 8th. The homer would be enough as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Florida Marlins 4-1.  The Brewers then watched the Chicago Cubs knock off the St. Louis Cardinals to clinch the NL Central for the Brewers.

The Arizona Diamondbacks completed their rise from worst to first after beating the San Francisco Giants 3-1 friday night to win the NL West.

Over in the American League the Texas Rangers defeated the Seattle Mariners 5-3 and then watched the Oakland A’s beat the Angels 3-1 to clinch the AL West for the Rangers. It is the second consecutive AL West title for the 2010 World Series runner up.

American League
