(3-3) Jets 24 Dolphins 6 (0-5)
In another lackluster Monday Night Football game, the New York Jets hammered the winless Miami Dolphins 24-6.
Miami jumped out to a 6-0 lead and then never led again. The Jets pressured Miami quarterback Matt Moore all night and didn’t allow the Dolphins to gain any traction. The momentum changed late in the first quarter when Jets cornerback Darrell Revis took his first of two interceptions to the house for a 100 yard touchdown. The victory snaps a 3-game losing streak for the Jets. The Dolphins loss drops them to 0-5 on the season.
NY Jets qb Mark Sanchez was 14/25 passing with 201 yards 1 passing TD and rushing TD. Sanchez’s TD pass came on a 38 yard connection with Santonio Holmes. Holmes finished with 3 receptions for 63 yards and a TD. Shonn Greene led the Jets ground attack with 74 yards.
In his first start of the season Miami qb Matt Moore was roughed up all night. Moore was 16/34 passing with 204 yards and 2 INT. Star wr Brandon Marshall did not make good on his promise to get ejected in the 2nd quarter but was able to get loose for 6 catches and 109 yards with Revis covering him. Marshall was not able to beat Revis on several plays in the end zone and was the target on Revis’ 100 yard TD interception return.
