The Boston Red Sox nightmare 2011 continues as All-Star closer Jonathan Papelbon has agreed to a 4-year $50 million deal with the Philadelphia Phillies pending a physical.

The deal includes a vesting offer that could take it over $60 million. This deal for he 30 year old closer makes it the highest total package ever for a relief pitcher.

Papelbon leaves the Red Sox after 6 seasons with 219 saves, 2.33 era and a 1.02 WHIP. Pap also closed out the 2007 World Series for the Boston Red Sox.
