The Indianapolis Colts have decided to release longtime quarterback and future first ballot hall of famer Peyton Manning.
Manning who brought the Indianapolis franchise out of the doldrums and to Super Bowl champions, missed the entire 2011 season following offseason neck surgery. As a result the Colts finished with the league’s worst record and the number one pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
The prize of this year’s draft class is Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck. With experts touting Luck as the real deal coupled with the uncertainty surrounding Manning’s injury the Colts have chosen to go with Luck.
For the first time in 14 seasons Peyton will be looking for a new team to play for. Even with Manning’s career in doubt, there will be a ton of teams lined up for a shot at signing one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game.
