2012 NBA Playoffs: Clippers Move On, Heat Pull Away

A day after the Los Angeles Lakers were victorious over the Denver Nuggets in game 7, the Los Angeles Clippers matched their city mates with a game 7 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies 82-72.

In a low scoring, defensive battle the Clippers pulled away from the Clippers in the fourth quarter behind Chris Paul’s 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists. Marc Gasol and Rudy Gay each scored 19 points for the Grizzles in the loss.

The Clippers will meet the the top seeded San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Semifinals. Game 1 will be in San Antonio on Tuesday night.

Heat 95 Pacers 86
MIA 1-0

After going back and forth for much of the game, the Miami Heat pulled away from the Indiana Pacers late to claim game 1 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals series 95-86.

It was the Dwyane Wade and LeBron James show as they combined for 61 points. James finished with 32 points, 15 rebounds, and 5 assists. Wade totaled 29 points and 4 assists. Roy Hibbert and David West led the Pacers with 17 points.

The Indiana Pacers will look to even the series Tuesday night in game 2 from Miami.
