It’s the time again! The 2012 NFL preseason is in full swing, with the regular season right around the corner. Per usual, let me try my hand at predicting the AFC division and wildcard winners.
AFC EAST
1. New England Patriots(13-3)
2. Buffalo Bills(8-8)
3. New York Jets(7-9)
4. Miami Dolphins(5-11)
The New England Patriots are still the class of the AFC East and should have no problem claiming the division once again. Look for the Patriots to be playing into late January/early February once again.
AFC West
1. San Diego Chargers(10-6)
2. Denver Broncos(9-7)
3. Oakland Raiders(8-8)
4. Kansas City Chiefs(6-10)
Yes, Peyton Manning will make the Denver Broncos a better team, but as untrustworthy as they are, I think the division belongs to the Chargers this year. Manning and the Broncos will give the Chargers a run for their money but may have to settle for a wild card spot battle.
AFC North
1. Baltimore Ravens(12-4)
2. Pittsburgh Steelers(10-6)
3. Cincinnati Begals(9-7)
4. Cleveland Browns(4-12)
Even with the injury to reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Terrell Suggs, I still expect the Ravens to have a great season and edge out the always solid Steelers in the division. Look for three playoff teams out of this division again.
AFC South
1. Houston Texans(12-4)
2. Tennessee Titans(8-8)
3. Indianapolis Colts(6-10)
4. Jacksonville Jaguars(3-13)
The rest of the AFC South will be bowing down to Houston again, as the Texans should easily win the division and be the lone representative in the AFC playoffs.
Wildcards
Pittsburgh Steelers(10-6)
Cincinnati Bengals(9-7)
