2012 NBA Playoffs: Thunder Eliminate Lakers, Celtics Push Sixers to Brink

The Boston Celtics used a third quarter rally to pull away from the Philadelphia 76ers in game five 101-85 and take a 3-2 series lead.

Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo found Brandon Bass early and often in the third quarter which led to an 18 point quarter for Bass. Bass finished with a team high and career playoff high 27 points. Rondo tallied 13 points and 14 assists. Kevin Garnett pitched in with 20 points. Elton Brand was the Sixers high point man with 19 points.

The Celtics will look to close things out in game 6 back in Philadelphia on Wednesday night.

Thunder 106 Lakers 90
OKC wins 4-1

The Oklahoma City Thunder are heading back to the Western Conference Finals after putting the finishing touches on the Los Angeles Lakers in game five 106-90.

With the Lakers down six heading into the fourth, Mike Brown sat Kobe Bryant to begin the quarter and the Thunder lead ballooned to 11. The Lakers would never recover and the Thunder went on to win. Russell Westbrook led the Lakers with 28 points, Kevin Durant added 25 points, and James Harden scored 17. Kobe Bryant led the Lakers with 42 points in the loss.

The Oklahoma City Thunder will square off with the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Finals. Games 1 and 2 will be in San Antonio.
