4/29/11 NBA Playoff action
Grizzlies 99 Spurs 91
Mem Wins 4-2
All I do is win, win!, win!! In the nights lone game, the west’s 8 seed Memphis Grizzlies eliminated the 1 seed San Antonio Spurs in game 6 of their first round matchup. The series victory is the first ever series win in Grizzlies franchise history. Many people say this isn’t much of a upset, but besides Charles Barkley and Jeff Jax, I don’t know anyone else who predicted Memphis to win this series. Although I did select San Antonio to win the series, I have been saying for the longest that the Grizzlies would be a tough out.
Zach ‘Zebo’ Randolph had another stellar game with 31 points, of which 17 were in the fourth quarter. Tony Allen once again played great defense on Manu Ginobili. Ginobili finished with 16 tough points. Allen finished with 11 points. The Grizzlies are the 8th and final team to advance to the second round. They will battle the Oklahoma City Thunder in one of the Western Conference Semifinals matchups.
